No Boundaries

"No expense spared" usually produces a predictable bike. Top groupset, top
suspension, top wheels, and a spec sheet you could have guessed before you saw
it. This one is more interesting than that, because the money went to choices
most people don't make.

Start with the cranks. They're EE Wings — machined from titanium, at a point
when nearly every crank at this level is carbon — with an SRM power meter built
into the spider, so the one component most riders never think about becomes the
one measuring the work. Then the Chris King 50th Anniversary Edition hubs,
headset and bottom bracket: a matched limited-edition set in the anniversary
gold, specified together rather than assembled from whatever was on the shelf,
and answered by the Kashima gold on the Fox Factory fork, shock and dropper.

Around those decisions sits an Allied BC40 in matte bronze, ENVE M6 rims,
Shimano XTR shifting and braking, and Pirelli Scorpion XC tires. Fast, light,
and precise — but the reason to look twice at this one is that nothing on it
was chosen by default.

Frame

Allied BC40 carbon full-suspension frameset

A carbon cross-country frame finished in a matte bronze-brown that shifts warm in low light, with the Allied mark on the head tube and the BC40 designation on the chainstay.

Drivetrain

Shimano XTR, hydraulic disc

EE Wings cranks — machined from titanium — with an SRM power meter built into the spider and a Wolf Tooth 104 BCD chainring. Shimano XTR handles shifting across a wide-range cassette.

Wheels & Tires

ENVE M6 rims laced to Chris King 50th Anniversary Edition hubs, Pirelli Scorpion XC tires

ENVE's M6 mountain rims built onto Chris King 50th Anniversary hubs in the anniversary gold, running Pirelli Scorpion XC rubber.

Cockpit/Suspension

ENVE carbon bar and stem, with a Kashima-coated dropper post and XTR brake levers.

Customizations

Chris King 50th Anniversary Edition throughout; EE Wings titanium cranks with SRM power meter

The anniversary gold recurs deliberately — hubs, headset and bottom bracket all from the same limited edition, picked up again by the Kashima coating on the fork, shock and dropper, against the matte bronze frame.

Build Brands

At Alpha Bicycle Studio, every custom build begins with a conversation. Riding
style, goals, terrain, fit, and aesthetics all play a role in shaping the final
product. An open budget doesn't make that conversation shorter — it makes it
longer, because every part has to be argued for rather than assumed. This BC40
is the result of that argument, right down to the color of the hubs. Because
the best bikes aren't the most expensive ones. They're the ones where every
decision was made on purpose.
